The big news at our fall conferences and on the SNI phones is SethNet '97 in Elmira with Rob Butts. The get-together has generated a great deal of excitement, it seems. The Holiday Inn in Elmira is already sold out of rooms, but the close-by motels and the Holiday Inn in Horseheads still have space available. And don't wait too long to send in your registration to SNI-we're booking our limited seating quickly! (Believe us...this conference is shaping up to become one of those cherished lifetime memories.)
If all goes as planned by Amber-Allen Publishing, a new Seth/Jane Roberts book will enter the stores for the first time in 1997. It's called The Way Toward Health, and it contains Seth's usual wisdom on a myriad of subjects, especially health. We'll keep you posted on its final publication date.
Also watch RC for the spring release of Conversations With Seth, Volume One, by Susan M. Watkins, SethNet Publishing's first product off the printing press. Volume Two and a book-on-tape will follow in summer. Also upcoming are the SNP publications of the following books and books-on-tape: Adventures in Consciousness, Psychic Politics, The God of Jane, Healing From the Inside Out, Create Your Own Reality, Create Your Own Happiness, Create Your Own Dreams, Soul Sight and Dreaming Myself, Dreaming a Town.
Without the addition of another SNI staff member, we could not hope to meet our publishing schedules or new product releases. Thanks to partial funding by Norm Friedman, a position of Product Manager has been filled by Mary Barton. Mary is the author of Soul Sight, a book about her more than 350 out-of-body experiences, and she comes to SNI with tremendous enthusiasm, great credentials and a good amount of stamina-all prerequisites for a job on our staff! One of Mary's first jobs was to create The Brass Ring Bookstore to replace The Seth Store. Eventually our new catalog will be mailed to people outside our database, in order to build up the sale of our products. So, welcome Mary...you are already deeply appreciated.
The SNI Board of Directors experienced a change in Board members as of January 1. Our friends and colleagues Helen Walker and Eileen Glover have resigned for personal reasons-and we will miss them! Their dedication to SNI's vision has been a stabilizing factor since our inception in fall 1992. Without their assistance, it would have been extremely difficult to launch SNI. The good news is that they have both agreed to join Rob Butts as honorary members of the Board, so we will still experience their guidance and wit.
Filling the two vacant Board of Directors' positions will be long-time Seth/Jane readers Mary Rouen and Michael Steffen. Both Mary and Michael have had extensive careers in business, experience which is crucial to SNI's future growth. As well as bringing management expertise to the company, each has hundreds of hours of SNI volunteer time under their belts. A perfect fit for SNI's needs, and a great personality fit with the rest of the Board (which includes Joel Heath, Norm Friedman, Andy Hauck, Stan Ulkowski and Lynda Dahl).
We can't talk about our new 1997 conference, "Seth and the Human Experience," without mentioning Mary Rouen and Michael Steffen again. They are the managers who are pulling it together, from lining up the speakers to defining the program. As you will see when you read the HumEx (our abbreviation) information in this issue of RC, we've expanded the hours of the conference from what was announced in Fourth Quarter '96 RC in order to give more time to some very important subjects. Do join us for what may be a life-changing experience.
Did you purchase a "Seth Material on Video" from SNI? If so, you probably received a videotape with a half-hour of Lynda Dahl being interviewed on television about the Seth material, instead of one hour. An error on the part of the production studio-and we will gladly replace your product if you give us a call.
SethNet Publishing is enormously pleased to announce that we've finalized an agreement with Rob Butts to print three of Jane's books: Adventures in Consciousness, Psychic Politics, and The God of Jane. Adventures will be printed in time for SethNet '97, along with its abridged book on tape, and the other two books and their audio tapes will follow later this year. Jane launches Aspect Psychology with the first two books, and in The God of Jane she offers us a deeply personal look into her life. Don't miss these wonderful creations by Jane Roberts.
As you will see upon perusing RC, SethNet Publishing has announced the release of the reprint of Conversations With Seth, Volume One, by Sue Watkins, and Healing From the Inside Out, by Sheri Perl, along with their respective books on tape. These four products are the first to be published by SNP, and are we excited! Volume Two of Conversations will follow in late summer.
None of the above publishing efforts (and work accomplished on other projects) would have come to fruition without the help of volunteers-and there were many. Most of the book layouts, editing, audio script writing, cover designs, and audio recording were due to the following people: Michael Friedman, Sue Williams, Mary Barton, Cathleen Kaelyn, Don Middendorf, Suzanne Delisle, Brent Marchant, Bob Proctor, Bob Barton, Tom Engeman, and Kerin Forsyth. Kudos-and thanks-to you all!
Almost as an afterthought when we were designing our SethNet '97 ad and brochure, we started using the phrase "A Family Gathering." It turns out that that phrase is what most people are identifying with SethNet '97-it encompasses the words of choice used most often when discussing the upcoming conference. That tells us a lot about how we Seth readers view our June gathering, does it not?
Rob Butts seems to be expanding his outward communications this year. He recently was interviewed on Radio's KEST in San Francisco and KGUM in Lincoln, Nebraska. With Lynda Dahl acting as co-host on the programs, Rob fielded with aplomb questions about his life today and his life with Jane and Seth. The San Francisco radio host called his participation a "landmark" interview.
Speaking of Rob, he tells us he will be "around" SethNet '97 much more than simply during his Friday night stage chat. That's great news. We'll be able to spend more time with him, which many of us will truly enjoy. And, if you received SNI's February contribution mailer, you know that Rob has agreed to have dinner with three raffle winners during SethNet '97.
We've been asked by many people who cannot attend SethNet '97 if we are planning to audio tape and video tape it. You bet! And with the help of Mel Baker of New Dimensions Radio, and Bob Terrio, producer of the video The Seth Phenomena, both of whom will be at the conference, we hope to offer some great products to our readers later in the year.
Regarding the contribution mailing we recently sent you, we said we would publish the ongoing results of our donation drive in RC. Since this current issue went to press in mid-March, and the mailing reached many people about that time, we will start our summary in Third Quarter RC.
We hope you enjoyed the first issue of our new Brass Ring Bookstore, which was included in First Quarter RC. Look for an updated version in your mailbox sometime in May, with lots of new products for your pleasure.
By the time you read Reality Change, we will have held our first "Seth and the Human Experience" conference. The interest has been high around this new method of exploring the Seth material. Try to join us for a great time in Portland in August or New Haven in October (and visit the Yale archives while you're in town).
