Research Project Update

by Mary Dillman

As published in the Volume 5 - Spring/Summer 2001 edition of Brass Ring Bookstore Perspectives

A recent addition to the Jane Roberts Papers at Yale University are CD's of ESP classes that were on reel-to-reel tapes. Sue Watkins wanted to donate the tapes, but they needed to be transferred to another medium. There was some concern that the tapes would disintegrate if something wasn't done soon so Mary Rouen (Brass Ring Bookstore), Richie Kendall, Sue Watkins and I financed the project. It gives us great satisfaction knowing that these are preserved for future generations.

The following was found in Jane Roberts' papers at Yale University Library, dated May 8, 1975:

Dear Soul,
it's my birthday,
so I thought I'd say hello.
Is it your birthday too
or don't things work that way?
In any case
we have a custom
of giving gifts on such an occasion.
This poem is mine to you.
And I wonder if you'll
give me one in return -
it needn't come packaged
wrapped in a fancy bow.
I'd settle for a moment
in which I really know
the things I know I know;
and learn, once and for all,
how to make them work
at this end.
